Santa Fe commUNITY days

Great day on Saturday as Kurt and I were able to speak to a number of people about Adobe in Action's mission and upcoming classes.  We also made adobes with anyone interested, which turned out to be a good many folk - especially some very enthusiastic young people.  We promoted adobe as an excellent resource for battling two insidious foes: inadequate housing and environmental degradation. People responded in a very positive manner and were interested in getting involved.  For those of you in that boat keep an eye on this blog for upcoming organizational information and opportunities to volunteer and attend AiA classes.

Pictured below is AiA's good friend Rita Klofta.  Rita has volunteered with Adobe in Action on numerous occasions and just happens to be currently working in Santa Fe as a pedicab operator.  CommUNITY days organizations were able to drive on to the Plaza to unload, but you had to walk your materials off at the end.  As I was lugging our materials to the truck Rita suddenly materialized to save my aching body from an inevitable breakdown.  Thanks Rita!
